Artemis Fowl and the Arctic Incident by Eion Colfer

Artemis Fowl is back and ready to go. Artemis’s mom has enrolled him in Sanit Bartelby’s school for young gentlemen. Butler (Artemis’s bodyguard) is not happy about this, he has already gotten himself banned from the school grounds. As for Captain Holly Short of the LEPrecon, she has been demoted to chute duty after the Artemis Fowl affair. She is only staking out this particular chute because the B’wa Kell (a goblin gang) has some suspicious activity in this area. Eventually, after many stakeout hours and an attack the LEP figure out that the goblins have help from fairies and a human. Artemis Fowl around the same time received a mysterious email containing a video of his father. Artemis was still looking for his father since he believed that he was still alive. So Artemis knows he needs help from the fairies to get a hold of his father. And the fairies suspect that Artemis is the one helping the B’wa Kell, so the fairies and Artemis team up to solve both of their problems. These unlikely allies team up in Artemis Fowl and the Arctic Incident!

I really liked this book because it is a mix of mystery and fantasy. Also, the book is viewed from a first-person point of view, but we cycle between characters. I noticed that the old characters are kept but new characters are also introduced. I am actively reading this book in 5th grade. If you like this book you should consider checking out other books in the Artemis Fowl series.
